Bordered by Burma, Laos and Cambodia, Thailand sits nestled by the Andaman Sea, the Gulf of Thailand, and the Indian Ocean, making it a mecca for ocean lovers. The popular west coast beaches, which stretch along this dramatic coastline, boast jungle-clad hills and crystal-clear waters perfect for diving enthusiasts. Further south Ko Lanta and Ko Phi Phi near Phuket are equally great for snorkeling as well as diving.
Bangkok is often a natural starting point for any luxury Thailand vacation. Here a colorful plethora of pagodas, markets, and high-rise shopping malls are thrown together along the calming Chao Phraya River. Elsewhere, Thailand’s unspoiled national parks offer some of the world’s most fascinating wildlife and natural beauty. Khao Sok National Park is arguably one of the most beautiful, home to Elephant Hills Tented Camps, while Khao Yai offers lush tropical rainforest, scenic nature trails and majestic waterfalls waiting to be explored.
At Scott Dunn we are specialists in bringing Thailand to life, using a range of unique experiences that go beyond the obvious. Think of aromatic local markets, that perfect out-of-the-way Thai restaurant serving the best Pad Thai, spending a day at an elephant sanctuary, walking through tribal villages - the list of experiences is endless. We use the best possible private guides who showcase the best of Thailand. Whether you want a relaxing beach holiday, or something a little bit more adventurous, we are on hand to provide you with a tailor-made Thailand vacation that’s perfect for you.

FAQs about our Thailand luxury vacations
-
The best time to visit Thailand is between November and February, during its cool season when the temperatures are comfortable and rainfall remains low. Don’t worry though, temperatures can still reach the high 80s even in the cold season.
Thailand has 3 seasons influenced by its tropical and humid climate. Along with the cool season, there is the rainy season from May to October, and then the hot season from March to May. While there are regional variances across the country, the temperatures in the center and south of the country remain similar thanks to its equatorial location.

Exploring Thailand’s cuisine and famous beaches are arguably the most notable activities to do here. Like enjoying local food tastings while exploring Bangkok’s historic “village of love” or taking part in an immersive cooking class in northern Thailand where you’ll visit a food market with a private chef and source your ingredients.
Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai are the obvious gateways to the north; Chiang Rai with its laid-back feel and Lanna culture and Chiang Mai which mixes old and new and hosts some of the country’s most colorful festivals.
However, you can also expect to spend days traversing ancient temples, cycling through the countryside, and going waterfall hunting in the country's national parks.
From the energetic nightlife to jungle safaris there’s so much to do here in Thailand. When you get in touch, our travel specialists can help narrow down the best activities for your luxury Thailand vacation.

Depending on the distance, internal domestic flights are great for getting around Thailand, especially if you’re including cityscapes and beach resorts on your Thailand vacation.
However, if you’re looking to fully explore a specific region, we can arrange private transfers for you, as well as trains and ferries where necessary. There are also tuk-tuks available for shorter distances and day trips.

Thailand is an excellent luxury travel destination for families. Not only is it safe, warm, and inviting, but this country radiates a vibrant energy kids love, and is packed full of family-fun adventures vetted by our travel specialists, like wildlife encounters and the best beaches for older and younger children.
Thailand is also ideal for family vacations because all the regions are family-friendly, whether that’s lounging in one of Thailand’s luxury resorts or chasing ancient temples through Chiang Mai.

Absolutely! A luxury Thailand vacation is perfect for a honeymoon in so many ways. There are Thailand’s luxury resorts that line its epic beaches for those looking to disconnect and take advantage of the incredible snorkeling (refreshment in hand!).
It’s also a great destination for country-hopping and culture enthusiasts who want to make the most of Southeast Asia and visit Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. See how unique these countries are and revel in their enriching cultures.
You can also spend some time traveling Thailand, starting in Bangkok, and grabbing hold of every adventure as you make your way south. From Bangkok make your way to the famous Golden Triangle. Historically known for its role in the growth of the Opium trade, the region is probably best known for its beautiful landscapes. Mist-shrouded mountains, glistening paddy fields, and hill tribes offer a stark contrast to bustling Bangkok.
Alternatively, enjoy a tour through this fascinating country unwinding at one of Thailand’s renowned destination spas, coastal resorts, or sanctuaries focusing on well-being and mindfulness.

There are direct flights to Bangkok from Los Angeles, as well as connecting flights from other major East Coast airports.
We recommend flying to Thailand from the U.S. with American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and Singapore Airlines.
