Leymebamba

The relative isolation of Leymebamba has created a laidback, peaceful town, a delightful base from which to explore the Chachapoyas-era archaeological sites that dot the surrounding rugged mountains. Trek out to the Congona, Petaca and Diablo Wasi ruins and visit the fascinating burial monuments of Revash, before brushing up on the history of the region in the excellent Leymebamba Museum.
