Central Highlands

Located between Windhoek and Etosha are the gentle rolling hills of the Central Highlands of Namibia. Separating the vast Kalahari with the red Namib sand dunes, the Central Highlands is characterized by wide valleys which are now home to numerous game farms. These farms form the main attraction in this area of Namibia and are perfect for a one-night stay on the way to or from Windhoek.

The most famous game farm in this area is Okonjima. Home to the AfriCat Foundation, Okonjima is well-known for its efforts into rehabilitating big cats like leopard and cheetah and for offering up the unique experience of being able to track these beautiful animals.
