Sail away on board a traditional yet luxurious junk boat where you will spend the night, a truly unique experience. Admire the incredible limestone karst scenery. Visit remarkable caves, scenic viewpoints and floating villages or pearl farms. This area is truly breath-taking, and definitely a ‘must-do’ for any first-time visitor to Vietnam.

Your journey continues today as you travel back to Danang by road and take a domestic flight down to Ho Chi Minh City in the south of the country. This buzzing metropolis has a vibrant atmosphere and a fascinating array of architecture, offering a wonderful contrast to Hanoi.
Take a private speedboat up the Saigon River to visit the fascinating Cu Chi Tunnels. These underground tunnels were used by the Viet Cong during the America-Vietnam War to move undetected and carry out guerrilla attacks. Your guide will help you delve deep into the history and tactics used during the war and, if you feel so inclined, you can even take the chance to crawl through one of the tunnels yourself and really put yourself in the shoes of the Viet Cong.
You may also wish to enjoy some of Ho Chi Minh City at your own pace. Take time to visit some of the historically significant sites, such as the Archbishop’s Palace, Gia Long Palace and a private home which was one of the bases for planning the Tet Offensive. Venture into the Mekong Delta for the day to catch a glimpse of rural life in the country’s ‘rice bowl’. The city also boasts an exciting foodie scene, and so this is a great opportunity to try some slightly more adventurous dishes such as frogs’ legs and snails – we dare you to give it a go!
