At a Glance
The following day you will walk from Dana to Feynan, about a five-hour guided walk through dramatic scenery. Dana Village is located just above the Wadi Dana and is a great example of a traditional Jordanian village. What strikes you about Dana Nature Reserve is its immense tranquillity; you rarely see other travellers and when you get nearer to Feynan there are a number of Bedouin camps where you can stop for a cup of tea before proceeding to the lodge.
Feynan is lovely eco-lodge, tucked away at the bottom of the Dana Valley. There is no electricity except in the bathrooms and a few of the public areas, and so the lodge is beautifully lit by candles each evening. There is a telescope on the roof for some of the best star-gazing you are ever likely to encounter.

For a small country, Jordan has an extraordinary range of climates. The best time to visit climate-wise is in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the daytime temperatures aren't too extreme. April is probably the best month, when temperatures are warm and wildflowers are in bloom. March can be cold and rainy in the north but is balmy by the Gulf of Aqaba and the Dead Sea.
