Hotel Palazzo Murat

In a prime location, along Via dei Mulini Positano’s pedestrian only zone, the hotel is equidistant from the beach and road to Almalfi, Ravello and Sorrento. Bult by Napoleon’s brother-in-law, the King of Naples in 1808, Palazzo Murat includes both the original 19th century palazzo and a modern wing which extends into the gardens. The gardens are a feature of the hotel planted with jasmine, olive, and lemon trees, roses, orchids, and a thriving vegetable plot. Full of romance and with sparkling sea views, the gardens are a delightful place to relax away from the crowds.

Adorned with fine antiques, classic art and ornate tiled floors, the vaulted public rooms retain an air of majestic grandeur, while elegant wrought iron gates lead into the beautiful arched courtyard, draped in bougainvillea. The most spacious rooms and suites are in the original palazzo and furnished with four-poster beds, stylish antiques, tall French windows, fine fabrics, modern ensuite bathrooms and indulgent breakfast balconies. The rooms in the modern part of the hotel are smaller, featuring whitewashed walls, tiled floors, painted furniture and fresh fabrics. Each one has a terrace, and some have sea views. Using fresh homegrown produce the fabulous Al Palazzo Restaurant serves upscale inventive cuisine in the romantic courtyard. Breakfast can also be eaten here and there is an indoor seating area for cooler days and nights. For cocktails and sundowners, Bar Le Petit Murat set within the courtyard, is full of charming spaces for relaxing in style.
