It’s only a short transfer across the border to Kasane where you board your light aircraft flight to the lazy channels of the Okavango Delta. Keep your binoculars close as you soar over the wilderness below, as elephants can often be spotted from the skies. Dotted along the edges of an open floodplain, Nxabega blends modern luxury with an authentic safari feel for an intoxicating experience. With only nine suites, all raised to make the most of the Delta outlooks, sit out on your hanging daybed in the dappled shade of the towering Ebony trees, watching giraffes as they pass, before relishing the space of the airy rooms. Or perhaps sit round the crackling fire while a sumptuous feast is prepared for you to feast on under the blazing African stars.
Located on the western side of the Delta, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve, Nxabega offers the full Okavango encounter. Drift along the open channels where hippos snort in the distance on a boat safari, you can even try your hand at fishing. A mokoro ride is a serene way to spend a morning or afternoon, quietly admiring the beauty of the smaller details as kingfishers dart around and bell frogs sing from the reeds. Seek out the area’s giants on a game drive, which can even go out after dark to spot elusive predators as they stalk the night. For those looking for a thrill, a walking safari is a must where you are guided through the bush by your expert guide, who brings the Delta to life.Where to stay

Architecturally striking, with its curved organic lines shaped like a pangolin, this luxury lodge teems with style and boasts some of the most exceptional game viewing in the Delta. The seasonal floodplain stretches out before the lodge, while the heat is kept at bay by the swaying trees above. Each of the 12 suites offers complete privacy, cocooned by the surrounding vegetation, while your deck replete with plunge pool, makes the most of the sweeping views. After a day seeking out the wild dog, cheetah and lion that proliferate here, stretch out the limbs in the gym or perhaps indulge in a massage in the spa sala while the sounds of the wild soothe the senses.
Stretched along the edge of the Moremi Game Reserve, the mosaic of habitats around the lodge attract Africa’s most sought-after wildlife.
