The emphasis of this day is to explore the splendour and diverse landscapes of Fiordland and its remote coastline as well as South Westland and Mt Aspiring. Lifting by helicopter with your private guide you will fly between contrasting terrains of the ocean, rivers, beaches, glaciers, alpine lakes, and rainforest, where you will make 4 separate landings. You will have the opportunity to see Milford Sound away from the tourists, and take part in 2 x different activities to enable you to further explore and experience the stillness and rugged beauty of these magical places at your own pace. Activities you can choose include: Hiking in spectacular rainforests and ridge tops. Alpine trekking and hike along magnificent alpine ridges amongst breath taking mountains. Glacier encounter and explore awe-inspiring glaciers and crevasses in safety using an ice axe and crampons. Pack rafting and paddle along wilderness mountain streams and through deep blue pools in inflatable single seat rafts. Stand-up paddle boarding and navigate untouched, high-altitude alpine lakes using a stand-up board (or inflatable kayak). Drift Rafting and drift past virgin rainforest and beneath glaciated mountain peaks in small, guided rafts. At the end of the afternoon, you will fly back to civilisation and return home by luxury 4x4, invigorated, refreshed, inspired, and with memories to last a lifetime.
