The Mövenpick Resort Petra is located directly at the entrance to the historic city of Petra. Petra lies about 3.5 hours south of modern Amman, about 2 hours north of Aqaba, on the edge of the mountainous desert of the Wadi Araba.
The Movenpick is ideally located opposite the entrance to the Petra site. The hotel is a mixture of Arabic and international design. There are a number of facilities including a pool and choice of restaurants, providing a comfortable base for exploring.

The Movenpick offers 183 rooms and suites. Whilst the rooms do not perhaps have huge amounts of character, they are perfectly comfortable, and provide all that you need for a pleasant stay for a few nights.
The main areas of the hotel are more Arabic in style, including intricate tiles and carved wooden panels and window trellises. The hotel has a good range of facilities, including an outdoor pool, fully equipped gym and steam rooms. There are a number of restaurants to choose from, including Al Iwan, which serves Mediterranean and Arabic cuisine by candlelight, the ornately decorated Al Maqa'ad Bar and the cosy Al Baraka Tea Room. During summer the Al Ghadeer Roof Garden provides an atmospheric place to enjoy a sundowner and live music.
The location of the hotel is wonderfully convenient. Not only is the hotel right beside the entrance to Petra, it is also within walking distance of Petra Kitchen, as well as the others bars and restaurants in the town.
