After exploring Arenal, transfer back to San Jose where you’ll catch a short flight to Puerto Jimenez. From here continue on to the Golfo Dulce for a stay at the fabulous Playa Cativo Lodge. You have the freedom to explore the self-guided trails that surround this remote lodge at your own pace as well as complimentary use of the kayaks, stand up paddle boards and snorkelling gear so as to explore the bay and become acquainted with resident spotted dolphins! Your final stop is Manuel Antonio, a region that has been popular for many years now and with good reason. Your hotel is the best in the area, a beautiful hideaway away from the crowds, with its own private beach so the perfect spot to unwind as your adventure comes to a close.
The adventure's certainly not over yet though: included in your stay is a guided tour through the National Park, where you’ll observe sloths hanging in the trees, share the beach with monkeys and iguanas and the can take a dip in the ocean, which is suitable even for young or less confident swimmers. We recommend using Manuel Antonio as a base to explore this stretch of Pacific coastline. Tours and activities offered include white water rafting, mangrove kayaking and boat tours, guided rainforest hikes, ocean kayaking, catch and release sport fishing, canopy tours and horseback riding excursions. Restaurants and bars are within easy reach.

Year round destination, although November to April are the best months for sunshine. The ‘Green’ season, from May to October, is a good time to visit: it’s sunny in the mornings with rain in the afternoons. The quietest period is April to early June. The rain can be particularly strong in September and October.
Rafting is possible all year round, though the river might be slightly colder during the green season.
